Board Governance
Local needs. Common values.
Our Mission

As a cooperative organization, Wabash Valley Power has one simple mission: We exist to provide affordable and reliable electricity to our members. We deliver on that promise with the guidance of our board of directors.

It all starts in our local communities, with our 23 member distribution cooperatives. Each co-op’s members—the homeowners and business they serve—elect a local board of directors. Then each local cooperative board elects a representative to the Wabash Valley Power board, where members serve under the guiding principle of all cooperatives: one member, one vote.

Our board meets monthly in Indianapolis, where we maintain a laser-sharp focus on our three Rs: Rates, Reliability, and Risk management. We come together in a common cause, to meet the needs of our members, our employees, our environment, and the communities we serve while keeping pace with regulations, innovation, and an ever-changing landscape in the power industry.

In other words: We work for our member distribution cooperatives…who work for their members. The cooperative spirit powers our future—and it’s looking pretty bright from here.
