Our Supply Strategy
Even as consumers, utilities and government agencies become more focused on efficiency measures, the demand for power continues to grow. At Wabash Valley Power, growth can be attributed to several factors: the addition of new cooperatives to the Association, load growth within members’ service territories, and the continual addition of consumer goods that require electricity (cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, etc). To continue providing a reliable power supply at favorable prices, WVPA works to control as much of the power supply as possible through investments in generation assets.
The board and management of Wabash Valley Power have long believed in a balanced approach. That philosophy is carried out through the inclusion of strategic power supply purchases that work hand-in-hand with the G&T’s owned generation assets. As Wabash Valley Power adds to its generation portfolio, it will continue to work with other utilities, cooperatives and power suppliers to identify the best opportunities for joint ventures and partnerships.
