Generation & Transmission
As a generation and transmission cooperative, Wabash Valley Power is responsible for generating and purchasing electricity, then transmitting it to its member systems as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
In the following sections you'll find specifics about Wabash Valley Power's role with its member cooperatives, power supply strategy, its generation assets, and relationships with other organizations that help ensure a reliable power supply. Here, visitors can learn more about how power is generated, transmitted and distributed.
As participants of the Cooperative Research Network (CRN), Wabash Valley Power is actively involved in ongoing research and development projects within the industry. The association is particularly interested in the practical application of new technologies such as distributed generation, through which larger commercial and industrial sources can link auxiliary sources of power to the WVPA system and sell any excess generation.
